Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau Holds 2026 Chinese New Year Gathering for Foreign Talents

At the beginning of the new year, everything takes on a fresh look. To continuously optimize the talent development ecosystem and deepen Chinese-foreign cultural exchanges, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau (Tianjin Municipal Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs) recently held the "Racing Towards Dreams, Uniting for Progress – 2026 Chinese New Year Gathering for Foreign Talent" at Tianjin Polytechnic University. More than 100 foreign professional from 28 countries, including the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Russia, gathered together to welcome the new year. Tan Zhendong, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Tiankai Higher Education Science and Technology Innovation Park, and Zhang Yubo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Polytechnic University, attended the event.

In his address, Mr. Tan Zhendong stated that the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau has always attached great importance to work regarding foreign talents, continuously improving the service and support system for foreign talents, and providing comprehensive support in areas such as career development and social integration. He sincerely thanked foreign talents for their active contributions to Tianjin's development in the fields of international exchanges, teaching and research, and talent cultivation, and extended festive greetings and sincere wishes.

At the event, foreign professionals and international students in Tianjin performed together on stage, presenting a splendid array of song and dance performances, including "Young Friends Come Together," "Rhythmic Youth," "Loving Each Other," and "Joyous Dances Along the Silk Road," filling the venue with a warm festive atmosphere. A special session showcasing Chinese culture was also organized, where participants enthusiastically wielded brushes to create calligraphy and painting works together. Amidst the harmonious ambiance, foreign professionals enjoyed friendship and discussed the future.

This event effectively enhanced foreign talent's sense of belonging, happiness, and identification with Chinese culture while working and living in Tianjin, fully demonstrating the city's warmth in respecting and serving talent.
