2026 Xiamen Talent Service Month Officially Launched

On July 9, the launch ceremony for the "2026 Xiamen Talent Service Month" was held. Lin Tao, Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Party Committee, attended and delivered a speech, warmly inviting outstanding talents from home and abroad to choose Xiamen, settle in Xiamen, and jointly create and share a brighter future for the city.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Lin Tao welcomed all the guests and expressed gratitude for their long-standing care and support for Xiamen. He noted that in recent years, Xiamen has consistently prioritized talent work as a strategic focus, vigorously advancing the development of a talent-strong city in the new era, and striving to create a talent development environment where "talents come from afar and feel at home." This commitment has led to a mutually reinforcing synergy between the city and its talents, with Xiamen being named "China's Best City for Talent Attraction" for five consecutive years and recognized as one of "China's Most Attractive Cities for Foreign Talent."

Lin Tao emphasized that this year's Talent Service Month has been specially themed around "Youth Talent," aiming to attract more young talents to visit, understand, and integrate into Xiamen, so they can grow and thrive together with the city. We will attract and cultivate young talents through first-class sci-tech innovation platforms, adhering to the principle of treating all local institutions of higher learning and research, including Xiamen University, as strategic pillars and foundations for talent cultivation. We will build a high-standard Xiamen Science City and provincial innovation laboratories, accelerate the establishment of a number of national-level innovation platforms, major scientific and technological infrastructure, and new types of R&D institutions, and fully develop the "Sci-Tech Innovation Circle Around Xiamen University," offering a broader stage for young talents to innovate and create. We will empower young talents through a first-class industrial system, focusing on key industries such as new energy, integrated circuits, new displays, and biomedicine, with modern services and artificial intelligence as important pillars, to achieve a new leap in the scale and quality of core industries, continuously cultivating a fertile ground for talent growth, so that young talents can make significant contributions and achieve great success in Xiamen. We will enable young talents through first-class institutional mechanisms, deepening the integrated reform of the education, science and technology, and talent systems, establishing a talent evaluation system based on innovation capability, quality, effectiveness, and contribution, continuing to delegate authority to employers and "loosen the reins" for talents, and making every effort to pave the way for young talents' growth, so that their efforts in Xiamen are rewarded, their career paths are clear, and they have the confidence to innovate. We will support young talents through a first-class service ecosystem, focusing on building a youth-friendly city, continuously upgrading talent programs such as the "Egrets Soar Xiamen" (Qunlu Xingxia) initiative, deeply implementing the postdoctoral training and development action plan, and providing better living and working support with dedication, so that young talents can develop with peace of mind, work with dedication, and live comfortably in Xiamen.

The launch ceremony was also attended by Wang Shaozhuang, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee; municipal leaders Guo Xuebin, Wu Xinkui, Zheng Yuelin, Lin Xiaodong, and Xiao Youmei; representatives of experts; leaders of universities and research institutions based in Xiamen; and representatives of young PhDs from renowned domestic universities.

Throughout the "2026 Xiamen Talent Service Month," the city will focus on four main areas: exchange visits, skills training, project matchmaking, and policy services, planning and organizing 40 themed talent events to comprehensively demonstrate Xiamen's sincerity in attracting, valuing, and retaining talent.
