Xibaipo Memorial, located in Xibaipo scenic spot, Xibaipo Village, Xibaipo Town, Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, is the location of the Central Working Committee, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the headquarters of the People's Liberation Army during the War of Liberation, and is a national first-class museum. Opened to the public on May 26, 1978, it covers an area of 13,400 square meters and a building area of 3,344 square meters.
As of March 2014, Xibaipo Memorial has a collection of over 2,000 revolutionary cultural relics, including 15 first-class items in 8 categories. The auxiliary exhibition of cultural relics, documents, pictures and materials in the memorial systematically reflects the revolutionary practice activities of the CPC Central Committee and its leaders during their time in Xibaipo.
Xibaipo Memorial was named "National Excellent Social Education Base" in 1995; In 1996, it was rated as one of the "100 National Patriotic Education Bases for Primary and Secondary Schools"; In 1997, it was rated as one of the "National Hundred Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases"; In May 2008, it was rated as "National First Class Museum" by the National Cutural Heritage Administration; In December 2009, it was designated as one of the first "National Defense Education Demonstration Bases"; In May 2010, it was designated as the first batch of "National Anti-Corruption Education Bases"; In September 2011, it was officially awarded the title of "China National 5A-level Tourist Attraction".
