North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital that integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care, and rehabilitation. It is the only provincial-level hospital in the Tangshan area. The hospital was established in 1965 and has gone through various stages including Tangshan Coal Mine Medical College Affiliated Hospital, North China Coal Medical College Affiliated Hospital, and Hebei United University Affiliated Hospital. On April 8, 2015, it was renamed as North China University of Science and Technology Affiliated Hospital along with the university. In 2017, it was awarded the title of "Advanced Collective of National Health and Family Planning System". In the same year, it was rated as a national standardized training base for resident physicians. In December 2021, it successfully passed the re examination of a 69 tertiary Grade A hospital by the Hebei Provincial Health Commission. 

The hospital covers an area of 45000 square meters and has a building area of 71000 square meters; 1311 actual open beds; The hospital has a complete set of professional departments, with comprehensive strength ranking among the top in the local area. There are 38 clinical departments, 12 medical technology and auxiliary departments, and 33 functional departments; There are currently 1872 employees, including 55 with doctoral degrees and 683 with master's degrees. Personnel with master's degrees or above account for 39.42% of the total number of employees. The hospital has strong strength and outstanding characteristics. Respiratory medicine has unique characteristics in the serological diagnosis of atypical pathogens, viral infections, fungal infections, as well as bronchoscopic lung biopsy and bronchoalveolar lavage of lung tumors; Hematology is one of the earliest established specialties for the diagnosis and treatment of 70 hematological diseases in our province. It has now developed into a key medical discipline in Hebei Province that integrates medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research. It has achieved advanced domestic and provincial levels in the treatment of malignant hematological diseases, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for hematological system diseases, CAR-T cell therapy for refractory recurrent B-cell hematological tumors, and the diagnosis and treatment of coagulation diseases; Orthopedic surgery is at the forefront of the province in minimally invasive artificial joint replacement, artificial joint revision, arthroscopic surgery, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and elderly fractures, and severe and complex trauma; The Department of Neurology is at the leading level in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, posterior circulation ischemia, stroke rehabilitation treatment, Parkinson's disease, and other fields in Tangshan City. Currently, pelvic floor reconstruction surgeries such as targeted treatment for ovarian cancer and transverse abdominal wall suspension have 71 achieved significant results in the Tangshan area; General Surgery and Minimally Invasive Hepatobiliary Surgery have strong technical capabilities, especially in various large and complex laparoscopic and open surgical treatments such as laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy, pancreatic tumor resection, liver resection, radical resection of bile duct cancer, cholangioenterostomy, and radical resection of gallbladder cancer. They are at a leading level in Tangshan City.
