In the underground parking lots of shopping malls and office buildings, new-energy vehicle owners can call a charging robot simply by scanning a QR code to place an order. While they are shopping or working, the robot will charge their vehicles.
Currently, the "Owl Charging" mobile charging robots, developed by a Beijing-based company, have been deployed in over ten office buildings and shopping centers across Beijing, including Chaoyang Hopson One and World Trade Center, with their charging prices remaining the same as those of charging piles in parking lots. According to the plan, 1,000 units of this robot will be rolled out across 150 parking lots in Beijing this year.
Currently, "Owl", a wheeled robot equipped with charging capabilities, can operate at speeds of up to 5 kilometers per hour in underground parking lots. It features autonomous obstacle avoidance and can climb steep slopes exceeding 20 degrees. By utilizing fast-charging mode, the robot can increase the vehicle's range by 150 kilometers after just 15 minutes of charging. With pressure sensors integrated into the robot's energy storage battery pack, it can monitor temperature and pressure changes more rapidly, thereby enhancing safety performance.
