Yanji, Jilin Launches Upgraded Talent Housing Policy

On June 2, the Information Office of Yanji Municipal People's Government held a press conference on talent housing policies to provide a comprehensive interpretation of the upgraded series of talent housing policies.

The upgraded policies center around the construction goal of "Youth-Friendly Yanji," establishing a tiered, full-coverage, and high-quality talent housing security system. The city has integrated a total of 2,268 units of talent housing, including 240 standardized talent apartments, where talents can enjoy rent-free accommodation for up to 3 years; 183 expert talent apartments in the high-tech zone, open to management personnel and professional technical staff of enterprises in the zone, with current students and university graduates given priority, at a rent of ¥800 per unit (including water, electricity, and heating costs); and 1,845 existing housing units, with rent linked to educational qualifications. The upgraded "Youth Hostel" provides free accommodation for up to 5 days and 4 nights for job-seeking youths under the age of 35 with a college degree or above who do not hold Yanji household registration.

In terms of subsidies, university graduates in their graduation year can apply for rental subsidies, with doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degree holders receiving ¥2,500, ¥1,500, and ¥1,000 per month respectively, for up to 24 months. University graduates within 5 years of graduation who purchase a house for the first time in Yanbian Prefecture can apply for a one-time home purchase subsidy, with doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degree holders receiving ¥80,000, ¥50,000, and ¥30,000 respectively.

Since the implementation of Yanji's talent policies, remarkable results have been achieved. To date, the city has provided various talent subsidies to 5,721 person-times of young people, disbursing a total of ¥15.76 million, and the scale of young people with college degrees or above coming to and staying in Yanji has been growing steadily. The beneficiaries cover various types of talents, including on-the-job management personnel, professional technical staff, and high-level talents from enterprises and public institutions across the city, as well as university graduates seeking employment in Yanji, new citizens, and those coming to the city for employment or business startup. The occupancy rate of talent apartments has exceeded 95%, having served over 1,000 talents in total.
