Chengdu Airports Start Mailing Service for Non-3C Power Banks

The Civil Aviation Administration issued an urgent notice: starting from June 28, passengers are prohibited from bringing power banks on domestic flights if they lack the CCC certification mark, have an unclear mark, or belong to a recalled model or batch.
What to do when you have non-compliant power banks that cannot go through the security checkpoint?

Tianfu International Airport has set up an on-site service point at the security checkpoint for the delivery of non-compliant power banks. The service is now operated by JD Express while the airport charges no fees, according to staff of the airport.

“Generally, the service charge is based on the distance of the delivery, varying from 10 yuan to 20 yuan,” said a staff member of JD Express. He added that a surcharge of 15 yuan is needed for each of the delivery. “A delivery from Chengdu to Zhejiang province, in eastern China, will cost a total of 31 yuan, involving the delivery fee of 16 yuan and the surcharge of 15 yuan.”
Another staff member of JD Express explained that the surcharge mainly covers the cost for packaging and the delivery of the power banks to JD's logistics centers. A notice on the delivery service issued by JD specifies that the Romoss and Anker power banks, as well as the power banks with bumps or damaged packaging will not be accepted.

Staff of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport said that the airport has also started mailing service for power banks at the security checkpoints, operated by JD Express, but the airport has so far not set up storage points for non-compliant power banks.
