Winter Fun in Beijing: Ice and Snow Adventures Await

1. Winter Ice Ribbon Carnival Season

The 2024 Winter Ice Ribbon Carnival Season has officially opened. Covering nearly 20,000 square meters in areas like the south plaza of the National Speed Skating Oval and the roller skating rink, the venue offers ice and snow amusement facilities for all ages. It also features a winter-themed food area.

2. Shijingshan Amusement Park Ice and Snow Music New Year Season

With four major ice and snow themes and designated scenic areas, this event creates a dreamlike wonderland. Visitors can enjoy nearly 1,000 square meters of interactive ice and snow experiences, themed performances, as well as live music performances on the Ferris wheel stage, allowing locals and tourists to fully immerse themselves in the magic of ice and snow.

Duration: December 20, 2024 – January 1, 2025

3. Beijing Happy Valley Sparkling Festival

Enjoy over 30 amusement rides and 12 ice and snow attractions with just one ticket! The event features a massive ice rink, snow tubing, tank rides, trampolines, ice and snow performances, and float parades. There's too much to experience in one day!

Duration: December 21, 2024 – February 16, 2025

Location: Xiaowuji North Road, East Fourth Ring, Chaoyang District

4. Beijing Wtown "Ice Town" Super Guide

This year, Wtown adds a new ice expansion area and an interactive ice sculpture zone, featuring more than ten ice and snow activities available for a limited time.

Duration: Expected from late December 2024 to mid-February 2025

5. Yudushan Sixth Ice and Snow Festival

This year's Yudushan Ice and Snow Festival will include themed areas such as Snowy Realm of Joy, Snow Wonderland, and Icy Canyon. The snow activities will feature snow tubing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, snow banana boating, snowmobiling, snow go-karting, and ice racing, among others.

Duration: Expected to start in early January 2025

6. 39th Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern Festival

The Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern Festival is a signature winter tourism event in Beijing. This year's carnival will showcase three areas: the Lantern Area, Ice Lantern Art Area, and Glacier Canyon Area. Highlights include the Glacier Canyon Fun Sports Meeting, International Food Festival, and Yanqing Intangible Cultural Heritage Folk Flower Fair.

Duration: Expected from early to mid-January 2025 through February 28, 2025

Location: North of Gucheng Village, Jiuxian Town , Yanqing District

7. Third Ice and Snow Carnival at the Beijing Garden Expo Park

On January 15, 2025, the third Ice and Snow Carnival at the Beijing Garden Expo Park will officially launch, offering an exciting outdoor experience for the ice and snow season. With a natural ice rink created on the Guirui Lake within the resort, visitors will be able to experience ice fishing, luxury wilderness ice and snow camping.

Duration: Starting January 15, 2025
