Application of Foreign Nationals for Employment-Based Residence Permit and Its Extension/Renewal(Short-Term Employment)

Eligible Applicants
Foreign nationals entering China to completeshort-term work assignments:
(I) Completing technical, scientific research,management, guidance, or other tasks at the partner(s) in China;
(II) Trying out at sports organizations in China(includinq coaches and athletes);
(III) Filming videos (including commercials and documentaries);
(IV) Participating in fashion shows (including serving as car models, shooting print ads, etc.)
(V) Engaging in foreigners-related commercial performances;
(VI) Other activities that qualify as short-term work.


Application Materials
(I) Valid passport or other international travel documents, including copies of the personal information page, the valid visa page, and the visa page with the latest entry stamp.
(II) Reqistration Form of Residence for Visitors From Overseas.
(III) Visa/Stay Permit/Residence Permit Application Form completed in black ink with a recent 2-inch bareheaded, full-face photo on a white background.
(IV) Proof of lawful registration of the organization in Wuhan that sent the invitation (no paper materials required, as the police will verify it online).
(V) Invitation letter from the employer: The original official letter in Chinese addressed to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public SecurityBureau from the employer shall be submitted. Theletter should include: 1. Basic information aboutthe empioyer and the applicant; 2. Reason for application: the applicant' s work arrangements and the duration of the residence permit requested for the applicant; 3. Guarantee of compliance with Chinese laws during the stay in China.
(VI) Other application materials required by the exit and entry administration authority based on the situation.
Note: All application materials shall be submitted in their original version for verification along with A4 copies.


Duration of Residence Permit
(I) For holders of Z visa, where the work period is more than 30 days but less than 90 days, a 90-day employment-based residence permit can be issued upon presenting the invitation letter from the employer,a Notification Letter of Foreigner' s Work Permit in China (for a work period of no more than 90 days), and proof of approval of foreigners-related commercial performances.
(II) For foreign nationals who complete their short-term work tasks and are employed by a Chinese employer within the validity period of their (short-term) employment-based residence permit, relevant formalities can be handled in China by following the relevant procedures under the Rules for the Administration of Employment of Foreigners in China.


Important Notes
(I) Applicants are required to be interviewed. Those who are under the age of 16, over the age of 60, or suffer mobility issues due to illness or other reasons, or have a good record of previous stay/residence in China may have others file an application on their behalf. However, if the exit and entry administration authority requires an interview, the applicant must attend it in person.
(II) Supporting documents provided by foreign nationals in languages other than Chinese for applying for visa/stay permit/residence permit must be accompanied by a Chinese translation from a qualified translation company in China.
(III) First-time applicants in China under the age of 18 who are foreign nationals of Chinese origin or overseas Chinese are also required to submit their birth certificate, parents' passports, and proof of residence abroad.
(IV) Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration must do so before filing an application.


This notification shall be interpreted by the Exiand Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
