To mark China's National Day holiday from October 1 to 8, which coincides with this year's Mid-Autumn Festival on October 6, scenic spots across Guangdong are hosting vibrant cultural performances, lantern displays, and traditional festivities to welcome visitors. Here's what to expect during the extended "Golden Week" celebration!
Guangzhou
Guangzhou Culture Park (广州文化公园)
Guangzhou Culture Park will host its historic Mid-Autumn Lantern Fair. Established in the 1950s, it is Guangzhou's longest-running lantern event. With a blend of traditional craftsmanship, modern design, and eco-friendly materials, 27 large- and medium-sized lantern displays and nearly 1,000 atmospheric lights will showcase the city's culture and provide a vivid preview of the 15th National Games.

Lingnan Impression Garden (岭南印象园)
During the holiday, Lingnan Impression Garden will transform into a stage for tradition. From 10:00 to 17:00 each day, it will feature four Yingge Dance parades connecting major sights, alongside over 30 performances including lion dances, Cantonese opera, and flash mob dances. From 18:00 to 21:30, the night comes alive with molten iron fireworks (Da Tiehua), fire shows, and dazzling acts like the Fire Dragon Dance.

A variety of special events are planned for the holiday period. From September 29 to October 8, a team of instructors will perform a dynamic ski show daily between 14:30 and 14:45. On October 6 (Mid-Autumn Festival), from 15:00 to 18:00, the snow area will be decorated with festive lanterns and photo spots, complemented by an interactive riddle wall for added fun.

From October 1 to 8, the scenic spot will welcome back its highly anticipated International Street Arts Festival. Performers from around the world will gather to present breathtaking acts, including Roman-style circus shows, comic bicycle acts, wild Mexican circus performances, Argentine football circus shows, clown theater, and bicycle bands.
Additionally, over 300 performances will be staged daily across the park, featuring cultural shows, cyberpunk themes, large-scale parades, colorful floats, and impressive mecha displays, creating a non-stop celebration of global arts.

Each night at 20:50, a countdown ceremony will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display with a different theme throughout the ten-night event. The festivities will also include Xiangyunsha (gambiered Canton gauze) fashion shows, lion dances, fire acrobatics, and live music, creating a vibrant celebration for the senses.

Chuanlord Tourism Leisure Expo Park (长鹿旅游休博园)
This National Day holiday, Chuanlord Tourism Leisure Expo Park will celebrate with dragon dances, a "Chang'e Flying to the Moon" show, lantern fairs, and water lantern rituals. For the Mid-Autumn Festival, the park will host ancient moon-worship ceremonies and the "Burning Fan Tower (烧番塔)" tradition, complemented by classical dance, fire shows, and acrobatics.
Jiangmen
Chikan International Tourism Resort (赤坎华侨古镇)

From October 1 to 6, enjoy boating through ancient waterways among egrets and immerse yourself in nostalgic Hanfu costume parades! Tourists can also catch daily performances, including classical dance, live music, magic shows, martial arts, and traditional wedding ceremonies. Be sure not to miss the evening concerts from October 2 to 7, featuring classic Cantonese hits from 19:30 to 21:00.

The Matchbox Music Festival, an iconic cultural event in Dongguan, will be held from October 2 to 5. The festival will feature 16 live performances daily by four bands, presenting a diverse mix of musical genres, including rock, folk, pop, and indie from talented artists across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
