Application for Work-type Residence Permit in Nanjing

I. Who can apply
Foreigners who are presently working in Nanjing.

II. Documents required
1.The applicant’s original and photocopy of valid passport and visa.
2.Valid accommodation registration in Nanjing.
3.Foreigners aged above 18 who apply for residence permits with a validity period of more than one year shall provide the Certificate of Verification for Physical Examination Record for Foreigners or Overseas Chinese issued by Frontier Health and Quarantine Inspection Department of China within 6 months unless he/she has submitted when applying for Work Permit for Foreigners.
4. Completely filled VISA / STAY PERMIT / RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM with recently-taken half-length, white background, bareheaded, full-faced 2-inch color photo.
5.An original and photocopy of Work Permit for Foreigners and a printed copy of the information obtained by scanning the QR code on it. Applicants engaged in commercial artistic performance shall provide the performance license and related files issued by the culture and tourism department.
6.A company cover letter approving the visa application of the applicants.
7.An original and photocopy of the business license or registration certificate of the applicant’s organization with the information of the Unified Social Credit Identifier.
8.Other supporting documents deemed necessary by Exit-entry administrations of public security organs.

Notes:
1.In-person application is required for the first time. For applicants featuring one of the following conditions:
High-level and special talents qualified as much-needed in the country,
Aged under 16 or above 60
Inconvenient to travel due to disability or illness,
the host organization, the applicant’s family members or a particular service agency can submit the application on behalf of the applicant.
2.Foreign nationals of Chinese origin shall submit a copy of their passport of the People’s Republic of China, household registration certificate, ID card, etc., which can confirm that they once had PRC nationality.
3.Exit-entry administrations of public security organs may, as they deem necessary, require applicants to attend an interview or submit additional supporting documents (such as proof of financial support, proof of change of information such as name, or business operation certificate, etc.). Applications which fail to attend the interview or provide the requisite information within the required time will be rejected, unless caused by a force majeure event.
4.All decisions made by the exit-entry administrations of public security organs on rejecting applications for extension, replacement or re-issuing of ordinary visas, or rejecting applications for stay permits, residence permits or permit extensions, shall be final.

III. Office hours and location
Exit-Entry Administration Reception Hall of Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau: 8:30-17:00 from Monday to Friday, and 9:00-12:00, 14:00-17:00 on Saturday (Except statutory holidays；Saturdays for documents acceptance only)

IV. Processing time
Within 15 working days for applications with complete documents required.
