The countdown to the 2024 Guangzhou Marathon has begun Guangzhou Marathon Expo opens to citizens for the first time

On the morning of December 8th, the Guangzhou Marathon, which officially entered its second decade, will start shooting at the Tianhe Sports Center, with 26000 runners competing for the 42.195-kilometer full marathon race. According to the information provided by the meteorological department, the weather on that day was mostly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 13 ℃ to 21 ℃. Considering the recent southward cold air, Guangma is expected to operate under relatively comfortable weather conditions, which will be beneficial for runners to achieve good results. In addition, Guangma continues to innovate and upgrade, holding competitions with a more inclusive and open attitude. For the first time, it will increase the number of citizens attending exhibitions. The Guangma Expo will be held from December 5th to 7th, and will be open to the public for the first time, further increasing the audience and amplifying Guangma's brand influence.

Track adjustments are beneficial for achieving excellent results

The Guangzhou Marathon was founded in 2012 and has held 10 editions in the past 12 years. This year, it will enter its second decade. As a World Association of Athletics Federations Gold Medal event, Guangma has won a good reputation among runners around the world with its magnificent track design and professional and scientific race services on both sides of the river.
On November 25th, the Guangma competition number inquiry officially began. This year's Guangma only offers all horse events, with a participation scale of 26000 people. The competition is moving towards a more professional organization and more attentive service.
Compared to last year, the 2024 Guangzhou Marathon route passes through Tianhe District, Haizhu District, Liwan District, and Yuexiu District, with three adjustments made to the track:
At a distance of 8 kilometers, the section of the relief road on the east side of Pazhou Bridge along the Linjiang Avenue will be cancelled; At 17.5 kilometers, the turning point on the west side of Gate 1 of the Canton Fair has been adjusted to turn back at the intersection of Zhongzhan Middle Road; The endpoint has been adjusted from Huacheng Square to Haixinsha Star Avenue.
It is revealed that the adjustment of the finish line aims to make it easier for runners to finish the race in the final sprint stage, which is beneficial for creating good results.
On November 21st, Guangma completed the route measurement, and the surveyor Yan Juntao is currently the only international A-level surveyor of the World Association of Athletics Federations in China. The fine tuned Guangzhou Malaba line runs along both sides of the the Pearl River, and its overall shape is very similar to the landmark Guangzhou Tower.
As is well known, Haixinsha was the venue for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. Choosing Haixinsha as the new finish line for Guangzhou and Malaysia will bring a brand new experience, which is a tribute to the Guangzhou Asian Games; On the other hand, by increasing the area of the finish line, it provides runners with a more comfortable finishing experience.

It is reported that a birthday bouquet has been added to the separate distribution of materials after the competition, and players on their birthdays on the day of the competition can receive this unexpected surprise. In addition, in order to pay tribute to elite runners, the event organizing committee has specially arranged for the mailing of the "Breaking Three" race uniform after the race, which is the best reward for high-level runners. For many runners, running a marathon and touring a city are standard features. In addition, purchasing marathon mascots and licensed merchandise is also something worth looking forward to. The 2024 Guangzhou Marathon Setxu offers a wide variety of products, totaling approximately 45 items, covering sports accessories, souvenirs, accessories, and other forms to meet the different needs of runners.

This year, the Guangzhou Malaysia Expo will be held from December 5th to December 7th at the China Import and Export Fair Exhibition Hall - Canton Fair Exhibition Hall B, Hall 11.1. The exhibition scope includes road running professional supplies, medical fitness products, fashion products, and official souvenirs.
Contestants will receive materials at the Guangzhou Malaysia Expo site, including clothes bags, T-shirts, numbered cloth, numbered cloth buttons, Dieda Wanhua Oil, Vaseline, 0 lactose milk, salt pills (2 bags/person), Chicken Biscuits, special cakes (Bean paste cake), pocket guides (event manual), etc. This year, Guangma opened the Expo to citizens other than runners for the first time.
