At Geely Research Institute, Levent’s colleagues are all young people. Working alongside them, creativity blooms every day. Levent enjoys this kind of work environment. As an expert in automotive structural design, Levent is able to provide technical support to his colleagues. He is seen as a “expert” as well as a “firefighting captain” in the team.
Pressing the “start” button, a car swiftly crashes into an obstacle. After a few seconds, there is a loud bang and the car is destroyed. “Simulating electric vehicle crashes on the computer is an interesting job.” Says Levent. Electric vehicles are powered by batteries, and if the battery is impacted, it may lead to leakage, short circuit, or even explosion. His job is to simulate various crashes scenarios and forces, in order to fine-tune the rear structure of the car and ensure safe driving. It feels like designing a game about car collisions.
Working at Geely amplifies the joy of these tasks. Having decision-making authority, avoiding time wasted in various meetings, and a flexible KPI assessment... Levent sees these as reflections of the entrepreneurial environment in Hangzhou High-tech Zone (Binjiang).
