Hangzhou 2024.08.03 - 2024.08.11Teenagers aged 14 to 16 are at a pivotal stage in life, full of potential for the future. However, due to unpredicted circumstances such as the illness of a parent or other difficulties, families of village teenagers are often struggling to provide opportunities to their children.
As these teens approach their first major life choice after graduating from middle school, they face many complicated questions: What are my life goals? How can I find my strengths if I attend a technical school? If I enter the workforce early, how can I continue to improve myself?
To support youth at critical crossroads from Pujiang, a county in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, and teach them how to make well-informed life plans, the "Daddy-Long-Legs" project is launching the second season of its volunteer events.
The "Daddy-Long-Legs" project is named after an epistolary novel by the American writer Jean Webster. The novel tells the story of a girl living in an orphanage who is sponsored for her education by a mysterious benefactor she calls "Daddy-Long-Legs".
In hope of broadening Hangzhou expats' understanding and experience of local volunteering activities, Hangzhoufeel is inviting 5 international volunteers to assist with the project's launch on August 10-11, 2024.
