Shanghai Metro has opened pilot currency exchange outlets at the Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station and the Pudong Airport Terminal 1&2 Station on the city's Airport Link Line.

This is the first time Shanghai Metro has introduced currency exchange services at airport metro stations. This seamless air-to-rail connection allows overseas visitors to exchange currencies as soon as they enter the metro station after landing, without making any extra detours.
As two major international gateways, Hongqiao and Pudong airports handle large numbers of overseas visitors arriving for business, tourism, or family visits.

Shanghai Metro is considering expanding the pilot program to stations at transport hubs and near central business districts.
