Application for Residence Permits for Work in Nanjing

I. Who can apply

Foreigners who are presently working in Nanjing.

II. Documents required
1.The applicant’s original and photocopy of valid passport and visa.
2.Valid accommodation registration in Nanjing.
3.Foreigners aged above 18 who apply for residence permits with a validity period of more than one year are required to submit the Verification Certificate of Medical Examination Record of Overseas Personnel issued by Entry-Exit Health and Quarantine Department of China within 6 months. If it has been submitted to the Bureau of Foreign Experts of Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau at the time of processing the work permit, it is not necessary to submit it again.
4.VISA / STAY PERMIT / RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION FORM with recent half-length, white background, bareheaded, full-faced 2-inch color photo.
5.An original and photocopy of the Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit or a printed copy of the information obtained from Foreigner’s Work Permit.
Applicants engaged in commercial entertainment performances shall provide the Affirmative Administrative Licensing Decision made by Nanjing Municipal Administration of Cultural and Tourism concerning the performances and relevant application documents.
6.An application letter from the applicant's organization.
7.An original and photocopy of the business license or registration certificate of the applicant's organization.
8.Other supporting documents deemed necessary by Exit-entry administrations of public security organs.

Notes:
1.In-person application is required for the first time. For applicants who are high-level and exceptional ability talents qualified as much-needed of the state, or aged under 16 or above 60 and inconvenient to travel due to disability, the host organization, the applicant’s family members or a particular service agency can submit the application on behalf of the applicant.

2.Foreign nationals of Chinese origin shall submit a copy of their passport of the People’s Republic of China, household registration certificate, ID card, etc., which can confirm that they once had PRC nationality.
3.Exit-entry administrations of public security organs may, as they deem necessary, require applicants to attend an interview or submit additional supporting documents (such as proof of financial support, proof of change of information such as name, or business operation certificate, etc.). Applications which fail to provide the requisite information within the required time will be rejected, unless caused by a force majeure event.
4.All decisions made by the exit-entry administrations of public security organs on rejecting applications for extension, replacement or reissuance of ordinary visas, or rejecting applications for stay permits, residence permits or permit extensions, shall be final.

III. Official hours and location
Exit-Entry Administration Reception Hall of Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau: at 8:30-17:00 from Monday to Friday, and 9:00-12:00, 14:00-17:00 on Saturday (Except statutory holidays；Saturdays for documents acceptance only)

IV.Processing time
Within 15 working days for applications with complete documents required.
