Global cultural and creative products gather in Suzhou

The 2025 Suzhou International Culture and Creativity Conference opened today at the Suzhou Jinji Lake International Convention Center. It was attended by approximately 400 prominent guests, including British economist John Howkins, China Animation Comic Game Group President Liu Peng.

At the conference, John Howkins released The Deep Index Framework Report on Urban Creative Ecology, which conducted an in-depth analysis of Suzhou's humanistic creative economy model based on the UCEDI framework. The report highlighted that Suzhou, leveraging its profound historical heritage, exceptional ability to revitalize traditions, and deep integration of culture with technology, has established a comprehensive, mature, and highly resilient creative ecosystem. It has been recognized as a global "Exemplary City for Humanistic Creative Economy."

Meanwhile, the 14th Suzhou Creative & Design Cultural Industry Expo kicked off today at the Suzhou International Expo Centre苏州国际博览中心 and will last through November 2.

Under the theme of "Culture and Creativity Make Life More Interesting," this year's edition spans 41,000 square meters, bringing together nearly 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions across five continents, as well as 31 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government.

The B1 Hall boasts an international museum cultural and creative products exhibition and a world cultural heritage cultural and creative products exhibition, featuring over 40 renowned domestic and international cultural institutions, including the National Museum of China, the Palace Museum, Shaanxi History Museum, Sanxingdui Museum, Suzhou Museum, the British Museum (UK), the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (USA), and the State Hermitage Museum (Russia). These institutions showcase their treasures in Suzhou, with a multitude of cultural and creative products making their debut in the city. Visitors can now take home premium cultural and creative products from the world's leading museums at their doorstep.

In the C1 Hall, the China Animation Comic Game Group presents the National Comics & Trendy Toys & Art IP Exhibition. The D1 Hall features AI technology to recreate the charm of water towns, alongside a new craftsmanship special exhibition showcasing the revitalization of intangible cultural heritage. Meanwhile, in the E1 Hall, the "Crab Meets Gusu, Savoring Centuries-old Flavors" food zone will authentically restore the flavors of Jiangnan.

The event features over 140 Suzhou-themed stamps, showcasing silk patterns, garden landscapes, and city landmarks, among others. Visitors can have a free Jiangnan Scrapbook at the service desk and follow designated routes to collect stamps. For stamp enthusiasts, it's time to race against the clock!
This year's expo also features over 100 exciting events, including the Cambodia-China Tourism Year 2025 and the Cambodia Tourism and Cultural Festival.
