Eligible Applicants
High-caliber foreign professionals and foreign experts whose skills are urgently needed in China.
Application Materials
(I) Valid passport or other international travel documents, including copies of the personal information page, the valid visa page, and the visa page with the latest entry stamp
(I) Registration Form of Residence for Visitors From Overseas.
(III) Visa/Stay Pemit/Residence Permit Application Form completed in black ink with a recent 2-inch bareheaded, full-face photoon a white background.
(IV) Proof of lawful registration of the organization inuhan that sent the invitation (no paper materials required, as the police will verify it online).
(V) Official letter in Chinese to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau from the organization that sent the invitation. The letter should include: 1. Basic information about the applicant and the organization that sent the invitation; 2. Reason for application: including the details of activities in China, the duration of stay in China, and entry-exit arrangements; 3.Guarantee of living expenses during the stay in China and compliance with Chinese laws.
(VI) Those who enter China on a non-R visa are also required to submit supporting documents that meet there requirements for high-caliber foreign professionals and foreign experts whose skills are urgently needed in China as determined by the relevant authorities of the Chinese government.
(VII) Other application materials required by the exit and entry administration authority based on the situation.
Note: All application materials shall be submitted in their original version for verification along with A4 copies.
Duration of Extended Visa
(I) Those who apply for an extension of R visa may apply for an extension of no more than 180 days.
(II) Those who apply for renewal of R visa (including those holding R visa who apply for additional entnies) may apply for a zero/single/double/multiple - entry visa valid for up to 5 years with a stay of no more than 180 days. The cumulative duration of stay on the renewed visa shall not exceed 1 year from the last entry into China.
Important Notes
(I) Applicants are required to be interviewed. Those who are under the age of 16, over the age of 60, or suffer mobillity issues due to illness or other reasons, or have a good record of previous stay/residence in China may have others file an application on their behalf. However, if the exit and entry administration authority requires an interview, the applicant must attend it in person.
(II) The extension of visa is valid for the latest entry only and does not affect the number of entries and validity period of the original visa. The cumulative extended period of stay shall not exceed the duration of stay specified in the original visa. Upon visa renewal, the original visa becomes invalid.
(III) Supporting documents provided by foreign nationals in languages other than Chinese for applying for visa/stay permit/residence permit must be accompanied by a Chinese translation from a qualified translation company in China.
(IV) First-time applicants in China under the age of 18 who are foreign nationals of Chinese origin or overseas Chinese are also required to submit their birth certificate, parents' passports, and proof of residence abroad.
(V) Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration must do so before filing an application.
This notification shall be interpreted by the Exiand Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
