Alipay, the digital payment app of Chinese financial technology company Ant Group, recently announced its trial operation system in 14 more languages apart from Chinese and English, including French, German, Spanish, Malay, Arabic, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese, with an aim to better serve foreigners in China for purchases.
Alipay has provided foreigners in China to link their international bank cards, including Visa and Mastercard, to its mobile payment tool, and users of 10 overseas e-wallets are also able to use their familiar home e-wallets on their own phones by scanning Alipay QR codes, to experience seamless mobile payment across Alipay's vast merchant network, and continues to optimize service solutions such as certification exemption, enhancement of the limit for a single transaction and transactions for a year under the guidance of the People’s Bank of China and State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
With the new system in 16 languages, foreigners can use the app for ride-hailing, hotel reservation, ticket booking for tourist destinations, public transportation services, power bank renting, inquiry of currency exchange rates and so on in China.
Without searching for translations on other websites, users of Alipay can find translations on the homepage of the app, which provides text translation, voice translation and snapshot translation, making it much easier for everyday use.
