“It takes a village to raise a child.” Concordia prides itself on its strong community. The environment in which a child learns and grows is hugely important, and we view the partnership with our parent families as integral to our mission. Our partnership with parents through the Parent Support Organization (PSO) is essential to the success of the whole community. Concordia actively supports the PSO’s network of activities, events and connections to actively engage the parent community.
Concordia offers American Advanced Placement courses, as well as our own college preparatory-level courses, preparing students for the real world, and for successful college applications for best fit universities around the world.
Concordia boasts an energy-efficient green campus. The entire campus’s heating and cooling system operates with geothermal technology. Available rooftop space was converted into a horticultural education area for students. State-of-the-art green technology allows 25-30 percent savings on the school’s overall energy costs and a reduction in overall environmental impact.
When we say we educate the whole child we mean that we invest in and tend to every part of each student: intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. In 2011, Concordia Hanoi was established in the tradition of the first two LCMS schools in Asia. Today, Concordia International School Shanghai has foundational and ongoing relationships with Hong Kong International School and Concordia International School Hanoi. These relationships provide opportunities for professional collaboration and fellowship between the schools—the only partners of this kind worldwide.
WASC Accreditation
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is the foremost accrediting agency for higher learning in the United States. WASC accreditation is a seven-year cycle; Concordia completed its third such accreditation in June 2022.
NLSA Accreditation
The National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission (NLSA) has been accrediting schools of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod since 1978. The NLSA encourages, assists and recognizes Christian founded schools that provide quality education and engage in continuous improvement.
