Upon its opening,

Chengdu will add another southeast-northwest line to its metro network.

Line 13 Phase 1 stretches 29.07 km from Wayaotan Station in the west to Long’an Station in the east. It operates entirely underground, with a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The line includes 21 stations, including 11 stations that allow convenient transfers to 10 lines: Lines 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 17, as well as upcoming Lines 10 and 30. It passes through Qingyang District, Wuhou District, Jinjiang District, Longquanyi District, and other core areas.

In August this year, the Line 13 Phase 1 project commenced unmanned trial operations. As Chengdu’s first fully automated rail transit line using intracity Type A trains, it operates with 8A train formations. Each train stretches 186 meters in length, with a standard capacity of 2,164 passengers and a maximum capacity of 3,054. These trains are designed to be highly intelligent, comfortable, and safe.

The Chengdu Metro Line 13 Phase 1 project adopts “Poetic Tianfu and Cultural Chengdu” as its design theme. It has established nine stations with artistic appeal, including Du Fu Thatched Cottage Station, Xinnanmen Station, and Xingfu Meilin Station.
Upon commencing initial operation, Line 13 Phase 1 will link together Du Fu Thatched Cottage, Qingyang Taoist Temple, Xingfu Meilin, Sansheng Flower Town, and other tourist attractions, as well as Sichuan University (Huaxi Campus), Sichuan Normal University (Shizishan Campus), and other universities.
Additionally, the line serves as a convenient medical route, providing access to West China Hospital’s Main Campus and Jinjiang Campus, as well as West China Second University Hospital’s Jinjiang Campus.
