Bouchaib Chkaif:Beijing Chaoyang is like a big park!

Apr 23, 2025

Beijing

My name is Bouchaib Chkaif
My Chinese name is Bu Chaibo

 I am from Morocco

China is a very peaceful country
that's what I like the most about China and the Chinese people
I started here in 2023

My work is teaching Arabic

With the AI revolution
a lot of people are concerned about their job prospects and what they want to do
Having these kind of questions
as a student myself
I had them

So I try my best to give them guidance

Back in 2016 there was the G20 summit
I worked there as an international volunteer
I also participated in a CCTV interview
and I still remember talking about
how I was inspired by Ibn Battuta
who came to Hangzhou through the ancient Silk Road
and what he wrote in his book
and still inspire me even today
And actually
I still use a lot of his writings and his descriptions of China

used in my own classes so that I can inspire more students

And inspire more people from my country to come to China

or my students to go to the Arab world

and particularly to to Morocco

I am so happy to have this card
It really gives you the sense of belonging and the sense of security that you are here for a long time
I took it last year in November 2024
The requirements are very clear
And the immigration authorities they really offer a very good guidance
Today we have a lot of apps
for example Xiaohongshu or Red
you can look at the questions
and people sharing their experiences
With this card you can have pretty much the same confidence

and compatibility like a Chinese citizen

I brought my brother here
said you must come to to Beijing
because Beijing is a very nice place to work in
and he obviously likes it
and now he is teaching biology to high school students in an international school
We meet frequently
We meet pretty much every weekend
We can cook
go out to party together
go to the parks
Chaoyang Park or Solana etc
The entire district feels like a park
Wherever you go you can see trees
you can see beautiful small parks
where people dance
and have a good time with their families
Going to parks to libraries and to cafes

It eally feels like home

As an Arabic teacher
I have the responsibility of preparing the next generation of diplomats
of translators and of educators

to serve as a bridge between China and the Arab world

I think China's future is promising
with that our future will be promising
I already have the bigger family
but I'm gonna have the smaller family
The plans for the long term are already there
and they're gonna be very very good
