Development Foundation
Xiamen, a coastal city with an established maritime history, provides a strong foundation for developing deep-sea biological resources, equipment, and anti-corrosive coatings. Several research institutes and scientific platforms operate in Xiamen, contributing to the city’s leading national position in areas like deep-sea biological resource development. Collaboration between marine research institutes and businesses fosters integrated development. In the emerging low-altitude and satellite industries, Xiamen University’s longstanding aerospace program has a strong track record of research and successful technology transfer, demonstrating significant potential for industry expansion. The low-altitude economy is primarily focused on the mid-to-downstream segments of the industrial chain, including aircraft manufacturing and its applications, and support services for low-altitude operations. The satellite industry encompasses satellite manufacturing, launch services, ground equipment, satellite operations, and related services. The operation of Xiamen’s new airport will further catalyze the development of a surrounding 20-kilometer aerotropolis, creating numerous new application opportunities. 
Development Priorities

• Deep-Sea Industries: Deep-sea microbial strain, genetic resource, and product development; Development and manufacturing of deep-sea exploration instruments and underwater robots;
• Low-Altitude Industries: Prioritizing the development of low-altitude infrastructure and undertaking the development and large-scale assembly of complete aircraft, including large and medium-sized drones and eVTOL aircraft;
• Satellite Industries: Developing advanced satellites, rapid response rockets, and BeiDou satellite applications.
