Jul 04, 2025

Chengdu

The section from Chongqing East Station to Qianjiang, part of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-Speed Railway, opened to traffic on June 27. The operation of the new section marks the completion of the high-speed railway connection from Chongqing to Changsha and will reduce the travel time from Chengdu to Changsha to less than five hours and from Chengdu to Zhangjiajie, a popular tourist site in Hunan province, to three hours and 58 minutes.

According to the new schedule of the national railway operations by China State Railway Group, effective on July 1, the national railway operator has put into service the first ever morning-departure-and evening-arrival high-speed trains with sleeping berths from Beijing and Shanghai to Chengdu, along with the same service from Chengdu to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, operational since January this year, to offer more options for passengers traveling along the lines. This marks the full coverage of the service with trains with sleeping berths running on high-speed transport systems in all the national-level city clusters including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Chengdu-Chongqing Circle.

Zhangjiajie
The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, located in the northwest of Hunan province, is a must-visit site for tourists to Zhangjiajie City. The area attracts tourists for its awe-inspiring landscapes, including the “floating peaks” as seen in the blockbuster movie “Avatar” and fans of X-sports from across the world, who come to the spot to have thrilling experiences in roller skating, parkour, car racing, wingsuit flight and so on, and challenge the famous Tianmenshan Ropeway, the longest ropeway in the world.
