The Zhongjun County Economic Research Institute, a national think tank and social organization focusing on county-level economies, has recently announced the top 100 counties and county-level cities in per capita disposable income for 2025, which includes two from Wuxi.
Jiangyin, with 77,271 yuan ($10,760), ranked third nationwide and first in the province, while Yixing came in 27th nationally and sixth in the province.
In 2024, Jiangyin achieved remarkable economic growth, with a GDP of 512.613 billion yuan, making it the second county-level city in the country to surpass 500 billion yuan.
The Zhongjun County Economic Research Institute, founded in 1998, is recognized as China's first institute of county economy institute. It has carried out 24 straight years of evaluations and monitoring of county-level economic development.
