The improved regional transportation links come on top of the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, which debuted in 2023, putting the two cities within a one-hour travel circle. Regional officials noted last week that the high-speed railway and the Xiamen-Zhangzhou subway link are expected to increase the flow of vacationers among Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Xiamen and Zhangzhou during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
