Qingdao Amerasia International School
Qingdao Amerasia International School (hereinafter referred to as "Amerasia" or "QAIS") was officially approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2011. It provides a holistic, child-centered, inquiry-based education for students aged 18 months to 18 years, and is committed to fostering international-mindedness in its students.
Amerasia is the first educational institution in Asia to be accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). It is the first and currently the only IB Continuum School in Shandong Province to hold full authorization for all three IB programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP). Amerasia has also earned K-12 school accreditation from the Middle States Association (MSA) and meets the highest international school standards with accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS). It is also a member of the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS).
Amerasia integrates the IB framework with Montessori education at the Kindergarten and Elementary School levels, making it one of the few schools worldwide to combine these two internationally renowned educational systems with dual accreditation. The school community includes students and staff from over 30 countries. More than 70% of the faculty hold a Master's degree or higher, including three Ed.D.s. Students consistently achieve excellent results in the IB-MYP eAssessments, and IB-DP graduates have been admitted to numerous prestigious international universities.
