Hangzhou  2025.05.16

The Hangzhou International Communication Center and the College of Foreign Languages Zhejiang University of Technology are jointly launching a themed training session on “Local Lens, Cross-Cultural Expression”. This session will open new doors of creativity on how to tell compelling local stories through video.
This training is designed to help short video creators better present the stories of Hangzhou—past, present, and future—to the world. In today’s era of globalization and cultural diversity, the international communication of local original content has become key to enhancing cultural influence.

From ancient civilizations to vibrant street life, from traditional craftsmanship to modern industrial development—these are stories that belong uniquely to us. But how can we share this valuable content across linguistic and cultural boundaries, in a way that resonates with international audiences? This is a crucial and complex challenge.
In 2025, the Hangzhou International Communication Center is rolling out its flagship international initiative,“Hangzhou, A Window to China’s 5000-Year Civilization”, which includes the Hangzhoufeel Training Program.
These sessions invite renowned scholars and experts from various fields to decode international communication skills vertically and expand interdisciplinary knowledge horizontally, offering multifaceted support to improve global communication capabilities.
College of Foreign Languages at Zhejiang University of Technology places great emphasis on cultivating students’ comprehensive abilities, and international communication is a core part of its curriculum.
For foreign language majors, mastering a language is just the beginning—knowing how to use visual storytelling for cross-cultural expression is equally important. That is one of the reasons the college has co-organized this training session.
This event features seasoned industry professionals and experienced content creators who will share insights from their own creative journeys.Whether you are interested in content planning, shooting techniques, post-production, or distribution strategies, you will find practical tips and answers here.
Previously, the Hangzhou International Communication Center launched the Hangzhoufeel Short Video Contest, which received many outstanding submissions—some of the creators will also be on-site to share their creative experiences.Three accomplished young filmmakers, known for their work in global visual storytelling, will share their insights:
