Limassol(CYPRUS)

Located on the southern coast of the island of Cyprus, Limassol is the second largest city in the country. Boasting beautiful scenery, the city has a population of around 160,000. Limassol is now a modern coastal city and an important industrial center of Cyprus.The city’s wine and grape products are especially famous. Nanjing and Limassol established sister-city relationship in September 1992.

The year 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of sister-city relationship between Nanjing and Limassol. Nanjing sent a delegation to Limassol, and the two cities expressed the willingness to deepen and develop sister-city relationship from a new starting point and promote close cooperation and exchanges in relevant fields. During the visit, the two cities jointly held the “Celebration Ceremony for the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of Nanjing-Limassol Sister-City Relationship and the Chinese Cultural Festival”, and Nanjing Song and Dance Troupe performed in Cyprus, which expanded international cultural exchanges. In October 2019, a delegation from Nanjing visited Cyprus and participated in the opening ceremony of “the Third Cyprus China Festival” held in Limassol. Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe performed in the opening ceremony.
