2025 International Talent Exchange Series - Foreign Talents Visit the Museum

To promote international cultural exchanges and enhance foreign talents' understanding of the paleontological field in Nanjing, Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau in collaboration with the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, is organizing the "2025 International Talent Exchange Series - Foreign Talents Visit the Museum" event. We sincerely invite you to participate with your family members and children.

Event details are as follows:
Time: 14:30-16:30, Friday, July 11, 2025 (Please arrive at the assembly point by 14:20)
Assembly Point: Lobby on the first floor, Nanjing Paleontological Museum, No. 39 Beijing East Road (Due to limited parking nearby, we recommend using public transportation. The museum is approximately a 300-meter walk from Exit 5 of Jiming Temple Station on Metro Lines 3 and 4.)
Activities:
Visit the exhibition halls and laboratories of the Paleontological Museum, and explore the mysteries of life on Earth with experts.
Attend popular science lectures, featuring foreign experts providing in-depth explanations of paleontological knowledge:
Lecture1: Amber: a wonderful window to the Past (Speaker: Dany Azar)
Lecture2: Amber Planet: The astonishing Cretaceous Forests (Speaker: Sergio Alvarez Parra)
Participate in hands-on activities, including making polished amber by yourself to experience the charm of Paleontology.

Nanjing Museum of Paleontology

Nanjing Museum of Paleontology (NMP) was founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jiangsu Provincial Government in 2005. lt has a building area of 8000m2 and an exhibition area of 4200m2 . The museum tells the story of the evolutionary history of life, focusing on the theme of 'Evolving Earth, Evolving Life'. There are 20 exhibition topics and over thousands of exquisite fossil specimens covering invertebrates, micro organisms, fossil pants and vertebrates, including the well-known "Chengjiang Biota" and "jehol Biota”. lt is an important national base for science popularization and education, and is one of the largest professional museums of paleontology in the world.
