How Much Fun Can You Have in Zhengzhou?

New views, new experiences and new ideas in Zhengzhou keep emerging from the launch of national-level tourist resorts, leisure blocks and venues like Unique Henan: Land of Dramas and the Zhengzhou Haichang Ocean Park. These destinations have quickly become must-see spots for visitors from Henan and beyond.

The past five years have seen Zhengzhou, the Center of Heaven and Earth, the Hometown of the Yellow Emperor and the City of Kung Fu, attract more and more visitors eager to explore its depths. The city has become more vibrant, youthful and stylish, a poetic destination that visitors vividly remember.

Zhengzhou has a rich culture stemming from a continuous history of over 3,600 years. The historic monuments making it the "Center of Heaven and Earth" can be found throughout the city, and the Tongji Canal section of the Grand Canal network runs through the northern part of the city. The cultural traditions of the Yellow River and Central Plains have flourished here and continue to shape the city's identity, providing a strong foundation for the integrated development of culture and tourism.

The city's cultural and tourist attractions, as well as its local products, have grown increasingly diverse, centered on core cultural themes such as the Shang Dynasty Capital, Yellow River, Kung Fu and the Yellow Emperor. The solemn ceremony honoring the Yellow Emperor, which occurs on the third day of the third lunar month, also draws participants of Chinese descent from home and abroad.

Unique Henan: Land of Dramas opened in June 2021. Two years later, Zhengzhou Haichang Ocean Park opened in Zhongmu County, adding an essential piece of its development as a city of "Fantasy and Entertainment." Aside from these large-scale projects, new cultural, commercial and tourist streets have also become popular destinations for both residents and visitors to experience the city's appeal.

The Zhengzhou Memory 1952 Oil Chemical Factory is a tourism and leisure block that honors the old while embracing the new, and has transformed an existing complex of red-brick factory buildings into a vibrant, fashionable destination. Urban renewal has also revived historic neighbourhoods and given Zhengzhou a fresh, youthful energy. Meanwhile, cultural landmarks such as New Bodu, the Confucian Temple and the Shang Dynasty Capital Site Museum blend history with modern commerce, enriching the city center with depth and character.
