Application of Foreign Nationals for Extension and Renewal of X2 (short-term study) Visa

Eligible Applicants
Foreiqn nationals who engage in short-term study, take refresher courses, or receive training at educationa and training institutions in Wuhan.

Application Materials
(I) Valid passport or other international traveldocuments, including copies of the personalinformation page, the valid visa page, and the visapage with the latest entry stamp.
(II) Reqistration Form of Residence for VisitorsFrom Overseas.
(III) Visa/Stay Permit/Residence Permit Application Form completed in black ink with arecent 2-inch bareheaded, full-face photo on a white background.
(IV) Those who enter China on an X2 visa arerequired to submit the original official letter inChinese from their school addressed to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau, along with the letter of admission or proof of enrollment. The official letter must include the applicant's basic information, the duration of study, and the description of any special circumstances if applicable; Those who enter China on a non-X1 visa or change schools within China must also present the Visa Application for Study in China (Form JW201/FormJW202).
(V) Other application materials required by the exit and entry administration authority based onthe situation.
Note: All application materials shall be submitted in their original version for verification along with A4 copies.

Duration of Extended / Renewed Visa
(I) Those who apply for an extension of X2 visa may apply for an extension of no more than 180 days.
(II) Those who apply for renewal of X2 visa (including those holding X2 visa who apply for additional entries) may apply for a zero/single/double/multiple-entry visavalid for up to 1 year with a stay duration of no more than180 days. The cumulative duration of stay on the renewed visa shall not exceed 1 year from the last entry into China.

Important Notes
(I) Applicants are required to be interviewed. Those who are under the age of 16, over the age of 60, or suffer mobillity issues due to illness or other reasons, or have a good record of previousstay/residence in China may have others file anapplication on their behalf. However, if the exit andentry administration authority requires an interview, the applicant must attend it in person.
(II) The extension of visa is valid for the latestentry only and does not affect the number ofentries and validity period of the original visa, The cumulative extended period of stay shall not exceed the duration of stay specified in the originalvisa. Upon visa renewal, the original visa becomes invalid.
(III) Supporting documents provided by foreignnationals in languages other than Chinese forapplying for visa/stay permit/residence permitmust be accompanied by a Chinese translationfrom a qualified translation company in China.
(IV) First-time applicants in China under the age of 18 who are foreign nationals of Chinese origin or overseas Chinese are also required to submit their birth certificate, parents' passports, and proof of residence abroad.
(V) Individuals who have not canceled their Chinese household registration must do so before filing an application.

This notification shall be interpreted by the Exiand Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
