City Veins through the Millennia

How did Guangzhou become Guangzhou? More than 410 objects and sets trace a city founded 2,240 years ago and first named Guangzhou 1,800 years ago. Among them are 51 first-grade and 90 second-grade cultural relics, with loans from institutions including the Palace Museum and National Museum of China. A Shang-dynasty jade yazhang, the Nanyue king's 'Wendi Xingxi' gold seal, Han gold, archaeological finds, maps and historical documents gradually reveal a city shaped by geography, commerce and centuries of exchange with the wider world.
