First mountainous countryside park in Suzhou announced

With the temperature rising, it's time to put spring outings on your to-do list. Here's a new destination for you in case you don't know where to go: Shushan Countryside Park, which has recently been announced as the first mountainous countryside park in the city.

Located in Shushan Village树山生态村, Tong'an Town, Suzhou New District, the park covers an area of 5.2 square kilometers and has five mountains - Shushan Mountain, Jilong Mountain鸡笼山, Dashi Mountain大石山, Dahuang Mountain, and Dayang Mountain大阳山, and four villages - Dashi Village大石坞, Gejia Village戈家坞, Tangjia Village唐家坞, and Baishan Village白墡坞. Each season there has its unique way of relaxing: spring is for appreciating pear blossoms, summer is for tasting fruit, fall is for harvesting, and winter is for soaking in hot springs. It serves as a perfect destination for city dwellers to escape from the hustle and bustle and get closer to nature.

The park also has a 7.8-kilometer trail built against mountains. Starting from Dashi Village and ending at Baishan Village, the trail strings together scenic spots in the area, including Yunquan Temple云泉寺, the inscriptions on precipices, Gejia Village, Lu Ji Stone陆绩廉石像, and Huke Li虎窠里. Along the trail are many fruit trees, allowing hikers to personally pick local specialities such as waxberries and Cuiguan pears.Shushan Village boasts four hotels, over 20 homestays, more than 50 agritainment restaurants, and cafes and tea houses beyond count, capable of meeting diverse needs of tourists.
