Xiamen

The museum is located on the east coast of Xiamen Island, to the south of the Qianjiangshan Business Operation Center. It faces the Kinmen Island across the sea. It is a national 3A-level tourist attraction. The total area is 8,100 square meters, with the main exhibition area covering over 5,000 square meters. It is the first Olympic-themed museum in China approved by the International Olympic Committee and the Chinese Olympic Committee. It is also a member of the International Olympic Museum Alliance and is an independent international non-profit public institution. The museum was planned, designed, and established by Mr. Wu Jingguo, an international Olympic Committee member, chairman of the International Olympic Committee's Culture and Olympic Heritage Committee, and a world-renowned architectural expert. Over the years, he has personally served as the director of the museum. The museum houses a rich collection of Olympic-related artifacts, including Olympic torches, medals, stamps, badges, commemorative coins, mascots, etc., totaling over 11,000 pieces. Its purpose is to pass on Olympic culture, promote the Olympic spirit, and enable more people to understand, experience, and share the history and glory of the Olympics.

The museum has an open structure. The main building consists of two floors. The design inherits the concept of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. The exterior of the museum building is simple and bright, with a glass corridor that is particularly unique. It connects the four exhibition halls into the world's first such arrangement, making it an original building. The exhibition halls inside the museum extensively use ancient Olympic murals, reliefs, the Olympic rings, and the five-color Olympic elements. Combined with rich Olympic pictures, audio-visual materials, and collections, the museum is filled with a strong Olympic cultural atmosphere. The first floor of the museum hall is the public area, equipped with multimedia lecture halls, VIP meeting rooms, coffee and leisure areas, and a specialty souvenir store that can feature international Olympic and past Olympic themes. The second floor consists of an introduction hall and four exhibition halls, including the past, present and future of the Olympics, the Olympic family, treasures and sharing, etc. The underground first floor is the Olympic Art Workshop, serving as a temporary exhibition area.
