Honghu lotus seeds, one of China’s National Geographical Indication Protected Products, are a specialty of Honghu, Jingzhou, produced in Honghu Lake area, where the ecological environment is pretty good.
The products are big in size and round in shape, with thin skin, thick flesh, a sweet taste and a fragrant smell. The seeds contain abundant protein, starch, phospholipids, alkaloids, flavonoids, various vitamins and other nutritional and health-care ingredients, which can be made into various drinks and foods.
