An exhibition titled "Cats and Dogs" opened at the Suzhou Museum West on Wednesday. It will run through Oct. 10.

In collaboration with Universcience France, it is the museum's first science popularization exhibition focusing on companion animals. With Dopamine decor and over 20 installations that can be climbed, touched and smelled, the exhibition is aimed at transforming visitors from observers into participants.

The exhibition is divided into three chapters. The first chapter shows the physiological features of cats and dogs of different sizes. Visitors can compare their own speed, jumping ability and agility with their furry friends. The second chapter allows visitors to hear, see and smell the world from the perspective of cats and dogs, so as to understand how pets perceive their surroundings and express emotions. The last part explores the evolution of the relationship between humans and pets, and encourages visitors to keep animals with a more scientific and responsible attitude.

Educational programs for children will be rolled out. In addition, visitors can take part in various DIY activities, making seals, badges and woodblock prints with patterns of cats and dogs.
