The final structure of the BMC Station, the starting point of the railway, was recently unveiled to the press. As Asia's largest underground comprehensive transportation hub, the station will serve four subway lines (Line 6, Pinggu Line, Line M101, and Line S6), two intercity railways (the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway and the Huairou-Daxing Airport Intercity Railway), one suburban railway (the Beijing-Harbin Railway), and 15 bus routes. A dock for cruise ships has also been constructed for future use.
Covering approximately 1.28 million square meters, this underground hub features a design of smooth flow line enabling efficient transfers. The B3 level will serve as the platform level for intercity railways, while the B2 level will mainly function as the waiting area for intercity railway passengers and rail transit transfers.
The B1 level will serve as the entrance area supplemented by urban amenities, housing an urban concourse, a commercial pedestrian street around a sunken plaza, and related retail facilities. On both the east and west sides of the hub, there are transfer areas for buses, taxis, ride-hailing services, and private cars, as well as other municipal support facilities.
When the line officially opens, the station will provide direct and convenient access to Tangshan (Hebei Province), Baodi and Beichen districts in Tianjin, and many other areas. This will shorten travel times between cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and further improve their transportation efficiency.
