TCSOL in China Helps Foreigners Better Integrate into China

On December 23rd, 2024, the "TCSOL in China" 2024 Shanghai Graduation Ceremony and Symposium was held. More than 80 foreign expert service and management department representatives from Hebei Province, Sichuan Province, Fujian Province, Guangzhou City, Ningbo City, representatives of foreign students in China and representatives of Chinese volunteer teachers attended the event. The event was sponsored by China Society for Research on International Personnel Exchange and Development (CRIEP), and jointly organized by Shanghai International Academic Exchange Association, Shanghai Global News Network, Shanghai Daily and Shanghai Yudian Education Information Consulting Co., LTD.


During the event, China Society for Research on International Personnel Exchange and Development, Shanghai International Academic Exchange Association, and Shanghai Daily jointly held a signing ceremony for the "TCSOL in China". Wang Haiyang, Vice President and Secretary-General of CRIEP who signed the cooperation contract on behalf of CRIEP, said that language and cultural barriers had always been a big challenge for foreign experts and their families coming to China, and foreign experts hoped that relevant Chinese departments and institutions can create more opportunities to help them learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture. The "TCSOL in China" can help meet their needs in this regard, promote mutual understanding and deepen friendship, and help foreigners to better tell Chinese stories and spread the voice of China.
After the ceremony, representatives of foreign expert service and management department from Hebei Province, Sichuan Province, Fujian Province, Guangzhou City, Ningbo City had in-depth discussion on the timing and methods of the implementation in relevant provinces and cities.
The "TCSOL in China" is a public welfare program for foreigners in China, including foreign experts and their families, aiming to improve their Chinese language communication skills and understanding of Chinese culture, and help them better integrate into Chinese social life. As of December 23 rd, more than 170 Chinese language volunteer teachers have participated in the program, serving more than 350 foreigners.
