As one of the key events of the 8th Jiangnan Culture and Art International Tourism Festival, on the evening of May 18, the "Brilliant Brass–Splendid Symphony" special concert, part of the "Music Bridge–Soochow University First International Music Exchange Event & Orchestral Arts Week" series organized by Soochow University School of Music, was grandly performed at the Enling Concert Hall of Soochow University.

Gong Xiangyang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Resident Supervisory Commissioner of Soochow University; Leng Jianguo, Member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Suzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Zhu Li, Program Director of the Cyrus Tang Foundation; Li Yanguang, Director of Soochow University International Office; Cheng Xiaojun, Director of Soochow University Domestic Cooperation and Development Office; as well as representatives from the Publicity Department of the Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and the Suzhou International Cultural Exchange Center, were invited to attend.

Just before the concert began, Tang Rong, Associate Dean (in charge) of the School of Music of Soochow University, delivered a speech. On behalf of the School, he expressed gratitude to the Publicity Department of the Suzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC, the Suzhou Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Soochow University International Office, and the Suzhou International Cultural Exchange Center for their strong support, and paid tribute to the artists from home and abroad as well as all the staff. Tang Rong pointed out that this International Music Exchange Event is a vivid practice of the School's deep implementation of the university's three major strategies: "international development, famous cit–prestigious university collaboration, and talent-led institutional strengthening"–using music as a medium to connect China with the world, rooting itself in the local community to serve the city, and educating through the arts to empower growth.

During the concert, brass players from Texas Christian University (USA), Tianjin Juilliard School, the Jiangsu University Teachers' Trumpet Ensemble, and Soochow University School of Music took turns performing, together with the Soochow University Symphony Orchestra, presenting a visual and auditory feast covering classical and contemporary styles. At the end of the performance, the Chinese and international brass players surprised the audience by playing "Ode to the Motherland," and the stirring melody brought the atmosphere to a climax, building a bridge of friendship through music.
