Recruitment for High-Level Talents by Purple Mountain Laboratories 

Purple Mountain Laboratories are major scientific and technological innovation platforms jointly established by Jiangsu Province and the Nanjing Municipal Government. Founded in 2018, its mission is to address national strategic needs in the field of network communication and security, tackle major scientific and technological challenges in related industries. The Laboratories focus on key research initiatives in future networks, pervasive communication, and endogenous security, conducting both fundamental and cutting-edge research.
The Laboratories boast world-class research facilities and hosts several high-level talent platforms, including a national postdoctoral research station and a Jiangsu Provincial Academician Workstation. To date, the Laboratories have assembled a R&D team of over 1,100 members.
In line with its major research objectives, Purple Mountain Laboratories are  continuously strengthening its team of high-level talents. Candidates should hold a doctoral degree. Specific criteria vary by category:
Distinguished Senior Scholars
Applicants should currently hold a position at or above the rank of Associate Professor (or an equivalent senior professional appointment) at a renowned overseas university, research institution, or internationally recognized corporation.
Outstanding Young Overseas Researchers
Applicants should generally have held a formal teaching or research position at an overseas university, research institution, or corporate R&D department, with at least 36 consecutive months of work experience. Applicants must be under 40 years of age.
The applicant should not yet be working full-time in China or should have recently returned to/arrived in China.
Their research direction must align with the global frontiers of science and technology, meet the development needs of Purple Mountain Laboratories, and correspond with the Laboratories' key research areas in future networks, mobile communications, and endogenous security.

Purple Mountain Laboratories provide robust support for overseas talents returning to or starting their careers in China.
Specific support policies are as follows:
Position: Appointment to a senior research position within the Laboratories.

Remuneration and Benefits

• Distinguished Senior Scholars: Will receive a comprehensive remuneration package under the "Purple Mountain New Peak Initiative" for senior scholars. All eligible national and local policy-based talent subsidies will be awarded in full, with the cumulative total potentially reaching up to RMB 3.5 million.
• Outstanding Young Overseas Researchers: Will receive a competitive remuneration package under the "Purple Mountain New Peak Initiative" for outstanding young scholars. All eligible national and local policy-based talent subsidies will be awarded in full.

Research Funding

• Distinguished Senior Scholars: Eligible for national research funding of RMB 3 million. Additionally, the Laboratories will provide start-up research funding of no less than RMB 5 million, with the specific amount determined on a case-by-case basis according to the research tasks and requirements.
• Outstanding Young Overseas Researchers: Eligible for national research funding. Additionally, the Laboratories will provide start-up research funding ranging from RMB 1 million to RMB 3 million, determined on a case-by-case basis according to the research tasks and requirements.

Team Support
Substantial autonomy is granted in forming research teams, determining technical roadmaps, and managing research performance expenditures. Dedicated postdoctoral recruitment quotas will be provided.

Commercialization Support
The Laboratories prioritize the commercialization of R&D achievements within Nanjing. For technologies successfully commercialized in Nanjing, the Laboratories will, in principle, award 90% of the net proceeds or the equity share derived from the technology to the personnel who have made significant contributions to its development and commercialization.

Comprehensive Support
Assistance will be provided in securing recognition as a high-level talent by the Nanjing municipal government, granting access to a comprehensive suite of services including housing assistance, healthcare, cultural and tourism benefits, and household management support. Dedicated support is also available for arranging children's school enrollment and childcare.
