Tianjin

On April 17, the China International Talent Exchange Foundation (hereinafter referred to as CITEF) conducted a research visit to Tianjin to assess the implementation of the International Youth Exchange Program (CEP) and held the Tianjin Seminar on the CEP at Tianjin Agricultural University. Yang Yinglin, Deputy Director of CITEF, attended and presided over the meeting. Tan Zhendong, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and Director of the Tianjin Municipal Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and Jin Weiwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Tianjin Agricultural University, attended the seminar.
During the meeting, Deputy Director Yang Yinglin fully affirmed the achievements of Tianjin as one of the first pilot cities for the CEP, emphasizing the program's important role in serving national strategies and promoting youth exchanges between China and other countries. She also proposed working ideas for the long-term and sustainable development of the program. Seven program-implementing units, including Tianjin University, Tianjin Normal University, Tianjin Agricultural University, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, and Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, reported on their implementation progress, shared experiences, and offered suggestions on program management, fund utilization, resource sharing, and brand building. Representatives from two enterprises, CanSino Biologics Inc. and TCL Zhonghuan Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd., introduced their efforts in establishing long-term internship collaborations with renowned overseas universities and localizing international talent. They expressed their hope to leverage the CEP to further attract overseas young talents to support their corporate globalization strategies. The participating parties engaged in in-depth discussions on optimizing program procedures, expanding support channels, deepening university-enterprise collaboration, and serving corporate globalization, reaching broad consensus.
The International Youth Exchange Program (CEP) was initiated by CITEF, with a focus on supporting outstanding foreign youth in undertaking visit exchanges, international internships, and short-term work in China. As one of the first pilot regions, Tianjin has achieved remarkable results since the program's implementation, attracting over 100 international youth to come to Tianjin for exchanges. This has effectively promoted academic interaction, cultural integration, and friendship deepening between Chinese and foreign youth, providing strong support for Tianjin in gathering overseas young talents and enhancing the level of international scientific and technological cooperation. Next, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau will continue to do a solid job in the overall coordination, service, and support for the CEP, promote synergistic efforts among universities, research institutes, and enterprises, continuously expand the program's coverage and influence, and contribute to the accelerated construction of the Beijing (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) International Science and Technology Innovation Center and the development of Tianjin into a hub for international talent.
