On March 16, Xinhua News Agency contacted American young man Evan Kail. He had previously become associated with China by donating a photo album of the Japanese invasion of China and confirmed that he had settled in Tianjin.
Evan Kail, a Minnesota-based pawnshop owner, captured global attention when he donated a rare photo album documenting Japanese war crimes during World War II to China, an act driven by a deep sense of "peace, harmony, and friendship." Known in China as a symbol of moral courage, Kail's gesture earned him a piece of Chinese state gift porcelain.
