World mayors' first tea-picking experience

Recently, the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue was held in Huangshan, Anhui. Mayors from nine countries stepped out of conference rooms and into tea plantations and workshops to immerse themselves in Huizhou tea culture—from plucking leaves to processing tea. CGTN reporter Yang Xinmeng accompanied the mayors, documenting firsthand the entire process, from picking tea leaves to hand-roasting and finally savoring the brew together. Many mayors shared that this tea-picking experience was novel and unforgettable, offering them deeper insight into Huangshan's unique approach of seamlessly integrating cultural tourism with local daily life.
