2024 Soochow University International Week opens today

From SUDA to the world! The 7th Soochow University International Week opened at the university's Tiancizhuang campus today. A series of events, including the International Education Fair, International Culture & Food Fair, and Student Talent Show, were held concurrently.

The International Culture & Food Fair was teeming with crowds. Students from more than 20 countries, including China, Russia, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, and Morocco, presented delicacies, clothing, and souvenirs representative of their own countries. The on-site stamp collecting event included such contents as quizzes, delicious food, and treasure hunts, offering participants extraordinary Suzhou-style round fans with stamps featuring elements of the university.

"For me it was very fun because I could share my culture, and everyone was actually interested. I could teach some Polish sports. I made a lot of friends. So actually I'm very satisfied and it's very nice," said Maria Orlicka from Poland.

The International Education Fair witnessed over 10 domestic and overseas universities and educational organizations, including the University of Cambridge, the University of California, the National University of Singapore, and the Macau University of Science and Technology, among others, offering updated information on studying abroad to students and their parents on-site.

At the Student Talent Show, Chinese and foreign students joined hands with each other on the stage and brought speculator performances, including singing in different languages, dancing, playing musical instruments, and martial arts, to the audience, creating a strong international vibe.

The 7th edition especially set up a family area where parents and children had an immersive experience of the fun of traditional Chinese culture.
