21st Taicang Rothenburg Oktoberfest to open Aug. 18

The 21st Taicang Rothenburg Oktoberfest will be held from Aug. 18 to 22.

The main venue will be set up at Maritim Hotel & Conference Center and open to the public from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be live performances by German bands and famous DJs, beer competitions and suckling pig shows, offering an authentic Bavarian-style beer celebration.

The Rothenburg Street will host a beer market from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, featuring robot interactions, hanfu parades, flash mobs, acrobatics and band performances. There will also be areas and food for children and those who cannot hold their drink, such as a playground, handicraft workshops and a new energy vehicle exhibition.

Large screens will be installed on the street, allowing visitors to watch German-style performances at the main venue and Jiangsu Football City League games while strolling through the market.The festival will also introduce consumption tokens that can be used at the second and third phases of the street. Snacks and interactive games will start from one token, while beer and cocktails will cost three to five tokens. Five official token purchase points will be available on-site, and early-bird tokens can be purchased by scanning the mini-program code below.

The first phase of the Rothenburg Street will hold a summer night cultural event that includes games and challenges, a night market and daily themed activities. The Science and Education New Town will also join the celebration with a beer and food market.
