Chengdu to Launch and Increase International Direct Flights

Chengdu will launch and increase international flights to Southeast Asia, Europe, and other popular destinations in the first quarter of this year.

Increase in Direct Flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Kuala Lumpur

A direct air route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, served by Malaysia Airlines, will be launched on January 9, 2026. Following the introduction of the route, round-trip flights will operate on a daily basis.

The route will be operated by the Boeing 737-800NG. The outbound flight MH527 is scheduled to depart from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 01:15 and arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 06:20 local time. The return flight MH526 will depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 19:25 local time and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 00:15 the following day.

The introduction of the new route will bring the total number of daily direct flights from Chengdu to Kuala Lumpur to five. With flight schedules spanning from morning to evening, travel between the two cities is expected to become more convenient.

Launch of Direct Flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Sihanoukville, Cambodia

The launch of a new direct air route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Sihanoukville, Cambodia, operated by Cambodia Airways, has been pushed back. Originally set to be launched on January 7, 2026, the service is now scheduled to start in late January. According to airline staff, the airline’s official website and app are now open for ticket bookings. The earliest flight currently available for purchase departs on January 21, and fares start from approximately RMB 1,500.

Flights will operate three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight KR962 is scheduled to depart from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 14:30 and arrive at Sihanouk International Airport at 17:20 local time. The return flight KR961 is scheduled to depart from Sihanouk International Airport at 09:00 local time and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 13:30.

Launch of Direct Flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Brussels

A new air route from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Brussels, Belgium will be launched on March 26, 2026. With the new service, the travel time between the two cities will be reduced to over 10 hours.

Flights will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays with an Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The outbound flight CA463 is scheduled to depart from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 02:30 and arrive at Brussels Airport at 06:20 local time. The return flight CA464 is scheduled to depart from Brussels Airport at 12:30 local time and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 05:55 the following day.
