Come and Explore BJ's Municipal-level Tourism and Leisure Zones

Recently, the third batch of Beijing's municipal-level tourism and leisure zones was announced. The six newly listed zones include cultural experience zones blending tradition and modernity, vibrant food hubs, and stylish new cultural hotspots — offering both residents and tourists exciting new options for leisurely urban exploration.

Wudaoying Hutong stretches 632 meters from Yonghegong Street in the east to Andingmen Inner Street in the west, with direct access to Subway Lines 2 and 5, making it very accessible by public transport.
This area features a mix of international cuisines, specialty coffee shops, vintage creative boutiques, secondhand stores, and DIY workshops. Visitors can discover unique treasures or have interactive experiences, such as making customized pottery works. Notable restaurants include KINGSJOY (京兆尹), the world's first vegetarian Michelin three-star restaurant, the Mediterranean-style Saffron, and Fuding Café, which offers superb terrace views.
By merging traditional courtyard houses with shops fusing Chinese and Western styles, Wudaoying has become a popular arty destination and a photogenic hotspot.

Beijing Fun Tourism and Leisure Zone in Xicheng

Beijing Fun lies in the Dashilar Historical-Cultural Conservation Area and serves as a new city landmark integrating culture, commerce, and tourism. Centered on the century-old Quanyechang (a shopping venue), its architecture blends characteristics of Baroque, the Republican era, and the Ming and Qing dynasties.
The zone's businesses encompass cultural experiences, art exhibitions, high-end catering, digital experiences and flagship-store offerings. Visitors can stroll on the elevated walkways overlooking nearby hutongs, immerse themselves in digital realms, or visit intangible cultural heritage workshops, art salons, and more. Large-scale events such as design weeks and theater festivals are also regularly held here.

Yangmeizhu Xiejie Historic andCultural Zone in Xicheng

Yangmeizhu Xiejie lies to the north of Dashilar West Street, connecting it with Liulichang East Street. It is about 500 meters long and covers around 13,000 square meters. Developing gradually since the Yuan Dynasty, it is known as a "xiejie" (literally "slanted street") for its unique, diagonal orientation.
The zone preserves the authentic layout of an old Beijing hutong while integrating diverse cultural and business formats, exuding a "slow life" vibe. Visitors can browse for antique books, experience movable-type printing, or explore historic buildings such as Qingyunge.
Often praised as "the most beautiful street in Beijing", it is especially attractive to culture enthusiasts, as well as being a landmark for local gastronomy.

798 Tourism and Leisure Zonein Chaoyang

Featuring Bauhaus-style buildings spreading over 70,000 square meters, the 798 Art District has attracted a multitude of cultural, artistic, and creative institutions. The district houses diverse formats, such as art exhibitions, design, cultural tourism and study tourism, film and theater, cultural product retail, and themed dining. It is also the permanent home for international art institutions like 798CUBE, the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, and Meet You Museum.
Hosting thousands of cultural events annually, the district offers visitors immersive, photogenic experiences by hosting signature exhibitions, performances, and social gatherings. It is a great place to explore cutting-edge art while enjoying the unique cultural ambiance of cafés, restaurants, and bars.
In short, the 798 Art District has become a benchmark for Chinese contemporary art and a must-visit "urban art salon" for trendsetters.

Shougang Park Tourism and Leisure Zone in Shijingshan

Shougang Park has evolved into a hub for themed events, specialty dining, and retail. It is also an Internet-famous tourist destination integrating elements of industry, science fiction and the Winter Olympics.
Centered around landmarks like the Big Air Shougang (a ski jump) and the No. 3 Blast Furnace, the park has been enriching its offerings with dining, cinemas, the Coal Warehouse Museum and other business formats, while organizing and hosting events of various types and themes. Visitors can boat on Qunming Lake, cycle along elevated walkways, shop and dine at Chang'an Mills, and experience sci-fi adventures at the SoReal Science Fiction Paradise at the No. 1 Blast Furnace. Visitors can experience various cultural and tourism activities during the day while, in the evenings, they can take night tours of the old blast furnaces or attend open-air concerts.

Nestled in Tanzhesi Town in western Beijing, TANKO is built in the midst of nature, making it an ideal destination for experiencing "a slow-paced life in urban mountains".
The zone gathers stores of nearly 40 renowned brands, including four "first stores" in China, 11 "first stores" in Beijing, and 16 regional "first stores" spanning various sectors such as culture, dining, and leisure consumption. The zone plans a continuous stream of art and culture events, including music festivals, film screenings, cultural salons with well-known figures, and rural-themed fairs for visitors.
