Chengdu

Samuel Yeheyis Sami from Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, is a board member of the Ethiopian Coffee Association. Recruited to Chengdu as a coffee-roasting expert, he serves as a senior roaster at Kaffa Town Coffee in Chengdu.

Three years ago, he moved to Chengdu with his wife. Sami said that he likes the environment and the food here, but what surprised him most was Chengdu’s coffee culture—the city known for tea ranks second in the country for the number of independent coffee shops. A man from the birthplace of coffee, standing before a roasting machine in Chengdu, now tirelessly brings the flavors of the Ethiopian Highlands to the city.
