Suzhou kicks off campaign to usher in plum blossom season

As winter deepens, wintersweet and plum blossoms in Suzhou are on the verge of blooming and ready to shine. The city has kicked off a check-in campaign to usher in their blooming season. You are invited to follow the instructions to trace the flowers in the city and win big prizes.

Step 1: Get the check-in pamphlet

Time: Till Mar. 1, 2026 (50 copies per day through Feb. 7, 100 copies per day afterward)

Location: Xianqing Ouji Cultural & Creative Product Store, Couple's Retreat Garden耦园“闲情耦记”文创店

Note: Free of charge, one pamphlet per person

Step 2: Collect stamps

Each garden has its own stamp.
Visit any of the designated check-in spots listed below and collect plum blossom-themed stamps.
1. Lingering Garden
Location: Ticket Office留园售票处
Time: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
2. Couple's Retreat Garden
Location: Xianqing Ouji Cultural & Creative Product Store耦园“闲情耦记”文创店
Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
3. Lion Grove Garden
Location: Tourist Center狮子林游客中心
Time: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

4. Retreat & Reflection Garden
Location: North Tourist Center of Tongli Ancient Town同里古镇旅游区镇北游客中心
Time: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
5. Keyuan Garden
Location: Ticket Office可园售票处
Time: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

6. Shihu Plum Blossom Garden
Location: Tourist Center of Shangfangshan National Forest Park上方山国家森林公园游客中心
Time: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
7. Xiang Xue Hai
Location: Tourist Center香雪海游客中心
Time: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

8. Fangta Garden
Location: Tourist Center方塔园游客中心
Time: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
9. Fenghua Garden
Location: Cangjiang Academy沧江书院
Time: 9 a.m.-11 a.m., 1:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Tues.-Sun.
10. Nanyuan Garden
Location: Tourist Center南园游客中心
Time: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
11. Former Residence of Gu Yanwu
Location: Main Entrance顾炎武故居
Time: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Step 3: Redeem prize

The prize is a replica of the older-version tickets to Suzhou gardens.

After collecting three or more different stamps, you can redeem one special prize at Xianqing Ouji Cultural & Creative Product Store at the Couple's Retreat Garden before Mar. 1, 2026. Each pamphlet can be redeemed only once and those unredeemed will expire after the campaign ends.

Suzhou boasts far more places to enjoy wintersweet and plum blossoms than those mentioned above. Don't know where to go? Rest assured as the city has just released official wintersweet and plum blossom maps. Save them now and when they are in full blossom, set out to explore!
